Go Meet, Stevenage - Can you mentor, will you? – 21 May 2024, 10:00am

Go Meet Stevenage is a networking event held at Kings Court. We are delighted that this month's guest speaker is Peter Hopkins, MCR Pathways

MCR Pathways is a national mentoring programme delivered in 126 schools across the UK, and that number is soon set to grow. First established in Glasgow during 2007, they began a national expansion in 2018.

Since then, MCR Pathways has doubled the number of young people it supports each year, now working with over 5,000 young people each week. In March 2021, the Scottish Government announced a major funding package which supports the introduction of MCR’s mentoring programme across Scotland. The Hunter Foundation has also provided additional investment to support their expansion.

With this amazing milestone, they hope to help even more young people achieve all they can. In 2021 they launched MCR Pathways in England. Starting in Hertfordshire, they are now operating in eleven schools across the county.

MCR Pathways have subsequently rolled the programme out in Surrey and are operating in seven schools.
