Casella Family Brands are Australia’s largest family-owned wine business. The Casella Family emigrated from Italy in 1969 and set up vineyards and a winery in Yenda NSW. In 2001 the [yellow tail wine brand was launched and become a global phenomenon withing 5 years and today is recognised as the Most Powerful Wine Brand in the World. In 2014 the family bought the Peter Lehmann winery in Barossa, also an Icon of the Australian Wine business. Pepperbox was launched into the UK in 2022.

The European arm of the business, based at the Officers Mess, was set up in 2016, and is now one of the most important suppliers to the UK Supermarkets and supplies over 25 countries across Europe.

In this session, Simon Lawson (Managing Director of CFBE) and Carmel Kilcline, Master of Wine, (Head of Technical) will give you an insight into the wine industry, some of the opportunities and challenges the industry faces and what it’s really like dealing with the UK Supermarkets!
