Mantle Space Hosts Successful Launch Event for Women in Property

Mantle Space proudly hosted the launch event for The Women in Property organisation on Wednesday 15th May at our prestigious location; 95 Regent Street, Cambridge. Organised by Lizzie Bradbury, Communication and Engagement Manager from COEL, a local design and fit out company is the new chair for the Cambridge Branch and welcomed the guests as they arrived. In her opening speech, Lizzie paid credit to the previous committee who pre-covid had arranged some incredible events and expressed her gratitude in being offered the opportunity to reignite the organization. The launch event was a testament to the collaborative spirit and shared vision of the Women in Property organisation.

The evening brought together over 50 distinguished businesswomen from the construction and property sectors, fostering a dynamic environment of networking, inspiration, and knowledge sharing. At its heart, Women in Property is a national organisation which seeks to create opportunities, expand knowledge, and inspire change for women working in the property and construction industry. Their membership offers access to a variety of nationwide events, continuing professional development (CPD) accredited courses and a mentoring programme. Nationwide representatives from Women in Property attended the re-launch including Caroline Allen, Vice Chair and Suk Dosanjh, Chair for the South-East Branch.

Highlighting Industry Leaders

The event featured a lineup of local and influential guest speakers, each bringing unique insights and expertise to the gathering. Nicholas Bewes from Howard Group opened the evening with an engaging discussion on the current landscape and future opportunities within the industry.

Annie Wolf and Hollie Setchell provided invaluable insights into FutureIN Property & Construction apprenticeships and how their work with some has transformed lives for the good. Their talk highlighted the importance of nurturing the next generation of industry professionals and showcased successful apprenticeship models that are paving the way for future talent.

Sol Escobar from Give Your Best captivated the audience with her empowering perspective on philanthropy and its impact on communities less fortunate who have a real need for professional clothing and who do not have the available funds or access to shop online.

A Night of Connection and Inspiration

The evening's atmosphere was further enhanced by exquisite catering from Gonville Hotels ensuring that attendees enjoyed both a feast for the mind and the senses. Emma Batista from the Gonville remarked ‘On behalf of the Gonville Hotel team, it was a pleasure to be able to support Mantle Space for the launch event held at 95 Regent Street, Cambridge for the Women in Property event. We are very much looking forward to future events and being able to assist with our catering.’

One attendee commented about the event to the Mantle Space team, "It was inspiring to see so many accomplished women come together to support and uplift each other. The insights shared by the speakers were both thought-provoking and actionable.

Lizzie also conveyed her thanks; “I am most grateful to be appointed Chair of Women in Property for Cambridge; there are many things which I look forward to promoting in the events I will be hosting with women, including many of the phenomenal projects which women have worked on in Cambridge and the local region. I would like to raise a flag to some of the communities which have been built up by women in the industry including some of the exceptional science parks which we are lucky enough to host. I would also like to raise the profile of local charities and initiatives which are founded or run by women or are making a positive disruption in the property sector.”

Building on the success of this launch, Mantle Space is excited to announce plans for future events, on the stunning roof terrace. These events aim to continue fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and promoting the exceptional work of all who work within the property sector and wider afield.
