The Benefits of Home-Flexi - The Infrastructure Industry Innovation Partnership (i3P)

The Infrastructure Industry Innovation Partnership (i3P) is a collaboration between infrastructure operators, their supply chain partners, and the ecosystem of built environment innovators. Our role is to increase productivity, improve safety and reduce carbon by accelerating the adoption of proven innovations.
Connected Places Catapult acts as the host secretariat to i3P and as Programme Manager, I facilitate the engagement between our members to aid knowledge sharing, collaboration and the adoption of innovation at scale.

As remote or hybrid working has become the new normal, and businesses are no longer leasing large office blocks on the scale they were pre covid, I found myself working from my spare bedroom on a full-time basis earlier this year. Personally, working from home is not conducive for me, as I find it isolating and lonely. Thankfully, my new employer cares about my wellbeing and agreed for me to find an alternative place to work from, within an agreeable budget.

After initial online research, I came across The Lambourn, which offers everything I was looking for. The building is designed to the highest spec, it is local to me and has a genuine community feel. There is ample parking and a professional and helpful centre team. There seem to be good connections with other businesses on the business park as well as those within the centre. There are regular food vans visiting the site, and whist I’ve so far resisted, the doughnut van is on my radar!

The choice of home flexi desk packages suited my needs perfectly, as I don’t need an office and I will not be there every day. I think the price points for the flexi packages offer good value for money and allow for a flexibility I haven’t come across in other business centres. Also given cost was an important consideration for me, this allowed for my needs to be met, whilst being within budget for my employer. A win win all round.
